Former WNC Teacher Gets Prison Time for Child Sexual Abuse

Asheville -- July 26, 2022: On July 18, 2022, a former teacher who APD detectives had been looking into since January 2021 for allegations of child sexual abuse (pornography involving children)

entered a guilty plea in federal court and was given a sentence of 39 months in prison and lifetime supervised sex offender probation after his release.

USA v. Todd, Case No. 21CR00094, Western District of North Carolina, United States District Court. The trafficking of child pornography was the focus of a Cybertip investigation against Christopher Lee Todd, a former teacher at Cane Creek Middle School.
Det. A. Johnson, together with other members of the CCU team, agents, and investigators, carried out a search warrant at Todd's home, leading to the confiscation of a number of electronic devices. An extensive collection of child sexual abuse materials was discovered through forensic investigation (21,185 image files and 127 movie files.)
