Onslow -- A Richlands man was found guilty of molesting an infant sexually. Naval Criminal Investigative Services (NCIS) notified the Onslow County Sheriff's Office Special Victims Unit

on October 22, 2018, to inform them of Joshua Smith's arrest on suspicion of child pornography. When looking into Smith's case, NCIS acquired evidence that Ezekiel Coy Stone was emailing pictures of himself sexually abusing a newborn.  On October 23, 2018, Stone's home was searched by detectives from the Onslow County Sheriff's Special Victims Unit and NCIS agents, who then arrested Stone.

Stone was charged with:
Felony First Degree Sexual Exploitation of a Minor
Felony Second Degree Sexual Exploitation of a Minor
Felony Sex Offense by an Adult
Felony Child Abuse – Sexual Act
Felony Indecent Liberties with a Child

Stone entered a plea on August 12, 2022, and was found guilty of First Degree Statutory Sexual Offense Against a Child Committed by an Adult and First Degree Statutory Rape of a Child. He received an 18–20 year prison term.
