Asheville, NC (Oct. 12, 2022): Asheville Police Department Detectives and Officers arrested a drug dealer for trafficking cocaine while they were conducting crime prevention measures

near downtown Asheville Tuesday afternoon.

Elijah Bukhari Hassan (6/25/1997) was arrested near the 400 block of South French Broad Ave. around 5:30 p.m. Tuesday and charged with the following:
* Trafficking in Cocaine by Possession (Level II)
* Trafficking in Cocaine by Transport (Level II)
* Possession with Intent to Sell or Deliver Schedule II
* Possession with Intent to Sell or Deliver a Controlled Substance within 1,000 feet of a School
* Maintain a Vehicle for Controlled Substances
* Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
* No Operator’s License
Seized:
* 61.05 grams of crack cocaine
* Digital scale
* $8,357
Hassan was booked into the Buncombe County Detention Facility Tuesday afternoon with a $125,000 secured bond.
