Haywood County -- Hurricane Ridge Fire: According to the U.S. Forest Service the fires is located near Harmon Den,
Exit 7 off I-40 on the Appalachian Ranger District, Pisgah National Forest.

The fire began Wednesday of last week, fire behavior included smoldering and slow growth due to increased humidity and moisture in area.

Hurricane Ridge Fire Update Haywood County Emergency Services this morning:
As of 10 a.m. Monday, Nov. 28 the fire has grown to 150 acres. Smoke and fire are visible from I-40 near Exit 7. There are 75 personnel and helicopter crews actively fighting the fire. Cold Spring Creek Road is closed.
Please DO NOT call 9-1-1 to report fire, unless it is directly threatening a structure. DO NOT fly drones in this area. Drone activity is a danger to firefighting helicopters and will interrupt firefighting efforts.
