APD Investigate Shooting of Uber Driver

Asheville -- November 29, 2022: Detectives from the Asheville Police Department are lnvestigating a shooting
that occurred early on Sunday that injured an Uber driver,

but not seriously.

Around 3:48 on Sunday morning, APD Patrol Officers went to the intersection of Riverview Drive and Amboy
Road to investigate a gunshot wound that had been reported. The victim, an Uber driver, drove himself to Mission
Hospital after being shot. The victim told police that shortly after leaving off a customer, an older beige sedan
suddenly pulled up behind his vehicle and started following him. When the car passed in front of him with its window
down and a gun poking out, the victim tried to make a turn. Shortly after, a bullet grazed across the victim's thighs before entering the passenger door through his driver-side door. A shell casing was discovered in the road when officers examined the area.
