The following was posted on their government website:

Free over-the-counter medicine will be available for anyone looking to stock their pantry, with no income or I.D. requirements. Drop by on Friday, May 5 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Arthur R. Edington Center at 133 Livingstone Street in Asheville.

Available items include cold, cough, flu medicine, pain relief, vitamins, children’s medicine, and more. To request specific medicine, click here to fill out an online registration form to pre-order by Friday, April 28 at 1 p.m. Pre-ordered medications will be available to pick up during the event.

Participants don’t need to make an appointment or pre-register for the event. Homebound individuals can get their medications picked up by a friend or family member, but they must be 18 years old or older.

Those interested in volunteering for the event can sign up for spots that are still available, from van unloaders to greeters to language interpreters. Visit this link to sign up to volunteer. Kids 12 and older can volunteer with parental supervision and volunteers will be provided with snacks, water, and lunch.

Free over-the-counter medication is provided by NC MedAssist, a nonprofit pharmacy that provides medication at no charge through its Mobile Free Pharmacy events or at its store location in Charlotte. The organization also provides prescription medicine to qualified uninsured North Carolina Residents.
