Asheville -- June 30, 2023: According to the Asheville Police Department, a man was detained after cutting a man in the face during an argument on Tuesday.

Around 9:58 p.m., according to the police, a civil disturbance was reported in the 15 block of North Anne Street. Officers were informed while on the way that one of the men became enraged during the fight and began swinging a box cutter, cutting the victim's face.

Officers arrived and discovered a man with facial injuries; the victim declined medical attention.

Aaron Jerome Morrison was taken into custody following a brief struggle and charged with the following:
-Assault with a Deadly Weapon Intent to Kill
-Resist/Delay/Obstruct
-Assault Government Offical
-Disorderly Conduct
Morrison is currently being held in the Buncombe County Detention Facility under a $20,000 secured bond
