APD Investigating Violent Assault that left One Man Dead

Asheville -- October 17, 2023: The Asheville Police Department was called to the 60 block of Reddick Road at 10:47 p.m. on Sunday, after a report of an assault.

When APD officers arrived, they discovered Jason Oneal Edmonds with what appeared to be life-threatening wounds. Edmonds passed away after being taken by EMS to Mission Hospital, and his loved ones have been informed.

Criminal Investigations Division Detectives and Forensic Technicians are processing the scene with the assistance of the N.C. Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.
