Haywood County -- Extreme cold, snow Sunday, January 14, 2024

Extreme cold moves into the region tonight. A Winter Weather Advisory is issued for Haywood County from 1 a.m. Monday through 7 a.m. Tuesday.

Bitter wind chill values may range from zero to 10 degrees below zero, with high elevations as cold as minus 15. Plan ahead now for extreme cold and winter weather.

Snow is expected above 3500 feet, with lighter snow below 3500 feet. Areas that don’t receive snow can expect a wintry mix of ice and freezing rain.

Wind chills in NEGATIVE degrees. Several inches of snow possible above 3500 ft. Wintery mix at lower elevations. Plan now for cold, and possible power losses.
