Haywood County -- March 15, 2024: The Haywood County Solid Waste Department will be holding a spring

Household Hazardous Waste Collection Event on Saturday, May 18th from 9:00 am until 1:00 pm at the Materials Recovery Facility (MRF) located at 278 Recycle Rd, Clyde.

During this event, Haywood County residents are encouraged to drop off household pollutants free of charge. Haywood County has partnered with Consolidated Waste Services and EcoFLo who will have representatives on hand to collect the non-pesticide.
The following items will be accepted during the Household Hazardous Waste event:

Aerosols
Mixed Solvents
Mercury & Articles
Pesticide Solid
Acid Cleaners
PCB Ballast
Paint Related Material
Lab Packs
Latex Paint
Lead Acid Batteries
Alkaline Batteries
NiCad Batteries
Lithium Batteries
Propane (Grill and Camp Size)
Fluorescent Bulbs
Oil Filters
Fire Extinguishers
Antifreeze
Motor Oil, Kerosene, Diesel Fuel, Transmission Fluid, Hydraulic Oil

Medications and pharmaceuticals can be disposed of year-round at the Haywood County Sheriff’s Office. Please contact them for their schedule.

This event is for Haywood County residents. Please don’t bring or drop off items before the event. Early drop-offs could incur fees and fines.
