Asheville April 5, 2022: On April 4, at approximately 5:50 p.m., Asheville Police officers responded to a report of an

armed robbery at the 700 block of Patton Ave. According to witnesses, a man entered the business and began robbing customersand employees while brandishing a knife.  He then exited the store less than a minute later and drove off in
a black sedan.  Upon investigation, officers were able to obtain a good description of the suspect through witnesses and surveillance video.  

APD officers then responded to another call only minutes later, at just after 6 p.m., for an attempted armed robbery at 400 block of Victoria Road.  At that location, the suspect attempted to rob three victims outside of a business, but was unsuccessful.  He fled the scene in his vehicle, but the victims and witnesses were able to provide a good description of the suspect and his vehicle.

Patrol Officers identified the suspect as the same suspect in both cases and arrested Zachary Adam McInnis  and arrested him on the following charges:

Armed Robbery with a Dangerous Weapon (2 counts)
Attempted Armed Robbery with a Dangerous Weapon (3 counts)
Felony Breaking and Entering
Felony Larceny
Driving with a Revoked License
McInnis was taken to the Buncombe County Detention Facility for booking; he has a secured bond of $200,000. No victims were injured in either incident.
