Asheville -- April 18, 2022: Asheville Police are seeking the public's assistance in identifying two suspects who broke into several automobiles in the south Asheville neighborhood around a week ago. At 10 a.m. on April 9, APD officers arrived to the 100-block of Julian Shoals Road to investigate allegations of five vehicles being broken into earlier that morning.

The break-ins caused damage to two of the vehicles, and victims reported several goods stolen from all vehicles, including handbags, wallets, credit/debit cards and cash, electronic items, and other personal effects.

Officers were able to obtain pictures of the suspects, who seem to be a man and a woman driving a black Chevy SUV with the stolen NC tag ELM-5976, after further investigation. The same individuals were caught on camera attempting a fraudulent transaction at a bank outside of Asheville while using one of the victim's stolen forms of identity.

If you have any information about their identities or this case, you can anonymously share information by texting TIP2APD to 847411 (Tip411) or by directly contacting APD at (828) 252-1110.
