Buncombe County -- May 5, 2022:  Buncombe County Anti-Crime Task Force (BCAT), with the help of the Buncombe County Sheriff's Community Enforcement Team (SCET), served a search warrant at 43 Rector Street in Asheville on Tuesday. Four firearms, Fentanyl, Morphine, Oxycodone Hydrochloride, and numerous drug paraphernalia were discovered during the

investigation of the residence.
The Buncombe County Sheriff's Office received multiple neighborhood complaints about people living at the 43 Rector Street address who had outstanding warrants.
Due to his probation violations, Christopher Michael Joel Claxton was arrested at the residence and is currently being held in the Buncombe County Detention Facility on "no bond." Mr. Claxton is being jailed in the Buncombe County Detention Center on a $38,000 bond for the following charges:

Nine Felony Probation Violations
Possession Firearm by Felon
Trafficking Morphine Level I
Possession With Intent Manufacture/Sell/Deliver Oxycodone Hydrochloride
Possession With Intent Manufacture/Sell/Deliver Fentanyl
Possession With Intent Manufacture/Sell/Deliver Methadone
Maintain Dwelling for Controlled Substances
Possession Drug Paraphernalia
Resist/Delay/Obstruct
Two Counts of Driving While License Revoked
His bond will very likely go up once the drug trafficking charges are served.
The items seized from the residence are as follows:
AR-15 (Pistol)
9mm Semi-Auto Pistol
Derringer 22 cal. Pistol
FN 57 223 cal. Pistol
Morphine 40 Dosage Units
Oxycodone Hydrochloride 8 Dosage Units
Fentanyl 2.8 grams
During the service of the search warrant BCAT and SCET also arrested Benjamin Lyle Hinson and Michael Samuel Edwards.
Benjamin Lyle Hinson is being held in the Buncombe County Detention Facility under a $5,000 bond and is charged with:
Seven Counts Misdemeanor Larceny
Injury to Personal Property
Two Counts of Resisting Officers
Breaking and Entering Misdemeanor
Fictitious Information
14 Counts of Second Degree Trespass
Michael Samuel Edwards was arrested for two outstanding warrants in Haywood County. Mr. Edwards was transported to the Haywood County Detention Facility.
