Candler Man Faces Multiple Felony Breaking and Enterings

Buncombe Counnty -- May 14, 2022 The Buncombe County Sheriff's Office secured and executed a search warrant on the property of 168 Lower Edgewood Road in Candler.

Luke Adam Stafford was arrested and charged as a consequence of the search warrant and other investigative information.

Charges:

- Three Counts of Felony Breaking and Entering
- Three Counts of Felony Larceny after Breaking and Entering
- Three Counts of Felony Possession of Stolen Goods
- One count of Misdemeanor Possession of Stolen Goods

Stolen tools, auto components, and other goods were discovered as a consequence of the search warrant. A follow-up investigation was undertaken at 1 Harris Road in East Asheville by detectives. Following that, a search turned up more stolen tools linked to the same break-ins and larcenies.
On May 3rd, Mr. Stafford was placed under a $60,500 bond, which he posted and was released on May 6th. Several agencies across Buncombe County have filed criminal charges against Mr. Stafford in connection with stolen items over the last few years.
Our detectives have continued their investigation and charged Luke Adam Stafford with Misdemeanor Possession of Stolen Property on May 10, 2022. This warrant remains active.

$34,000 worth of stolen property were returned by law enforcemnt to the victims. The items were recovered during the searches.
