Franklin -- Officers from the Franklin Police Department were summoned on 05/30/22 at 11:52 p.m. after a 911 call from a resident of a residence on Foxfire Street in downtown Franklin. 

The resident told the Macon County North Carolina 911 dispatcher that an intruder had broken into her home and that she was still inside. With the help of K9-Toro and a Macon County Sheriff's Office Deputy, FPD Officers were able to track down the suspect in an adjacent property where he had escaped while officers were responding to the initial residence. Officers cleared the first property first, then followed the suspect to the second residence, where they discovered him hiding and apprehended him. 

During the evidence collection, it was determined that the suspect had broken into a parked vehicle in the driveway.

The suspect Samuel Ray, is  held in the Macon County Detention Center on a $80,000 secured bond for 1st Degree Burglary x 2, B&E of a MV, Resist Delay & Obstruct, & other FTA Warrants x 2 from Jackson County.
