Buncombe County -- June 2, 2022: The Buncombe County Sheriff's Office have charged Brandon Michael Gray, the owner of East Asheville Storage in Swannoa (2175 US-70), with felony offenses following a months-long criminal investigation.

The Sheriff's Office has received and investigated 55 complaints against the business since May of 2021, and has executed two separate search warrants on the premises.

Gray was arrested on February 16th, May 3rd and May 20th of this year. He now has been charged with:
- Eight counts of Obtaining Property by False Pretense
- Two counts of felony breaking and entering
- Two counts of felony larceny after breaking
- Fraudulent disposal of a security
- Injury to personal property
- Financial card fraud
- Financial card theft
The Sheriff’s Office also investigated a homicide that took place on the property in May of 2021. Mr. Gray was not charged in that investigation.
The Buncombe County Sheriff’s Office encourages anyone who is renting a storage unit at East Asheville Storage to check the security of their unit. Individuals can contact the Sheriff’s Office to report stolen property by calling 828-250-6670.
Mr. Gray was released on a secured bond of $10,000 on May 20th.
