Buncombe County -- June 2, 2022: Artise Cortney James of Arden was arrested and charged with multiple felony charges  after a long drug trafficking investigation by the Buncombe County Anti-Crime Task Force (BCAT)

with the aid of the Buncombe County Sheriff's Community Enforcement Team (SCET). 1.845 pounds of methamphetamine, 1.105 pounds of marijuana, a Semi Auto 12-Gauge Shotgun, a 22 cal. Revolver, a Bersa 380 cal. Pistol, a stolen Smith & Wesson 40 cal. Pistol, and different Drug Paraphernalia items were discovered throughout the investigation.

Mr. James was selling huge amounts of methamphetamine throughout Asheville and Buncombe County, according to community complaints obtained by the Sheriff's Office. Mr. James was arrested early on June 2 as a consequence of a previous search warrant that had been served at his home on May 13. At the time, some preliminary charges were issued.
He is being held at the Buncombe County Detention Facility on a $500,000 bond following his arrest this morning. He has been charged with:

- Trafficking Methamphetamine
- Possession with Intent to Manufacture/Sell/Deliver Schedule II Controlled Substances
- Felony Possession Marijuana
- Maintaining a Dwelling for Controlled Substances
- Manufacture/Sell/Deliver Controlled Substances Within 1,000 Feet of a School
- Possession Stolen Firearm
- Possession Firearm by Felon
- Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
